Cross border bus 4. Global Sources free shuttle bus service 5. Private car & taxi 1. Airport Express train The most convenient (and fastest) way to get to the show is via the Airport Express train. Trains depart every 10 minutes. As and when required, train services can be further enhanced by increasing frequency and larger capacity using Tung Chung Line trains to meet any upsurge in passenger demand, especially before and after events. Note that the Airport Express railway is connected to Hong Kong's ultra-convenient railway system, the MTR. From the Hong Kong Airport: When you exit the Baggage Claim area you will enter the Arrival Hall. There are two well-marked information counters (in the Arrival Hall areas A and B) where you can buy tickets for the train. Then, take the escalators up one level to the Airport Express train arrival / departure platform. To get to the show venue AsiaWorld-Expo, it will be about a one minute train ride and cost HK$5.5 (less than US$1). From Hong Kong Island: From the Airport Express station in Central district, it takes 28 minutes to the show venue AsiaWorld-Expo next to the Hong Kong Airport. When trade shows are held at AsiaWorld-Expo, discounted train tickets are available for HK$80 (US$10) round trip. Discounted rates are only available when you use an Octopus stored value card and stay at the venue for more than 1 hour. From Kowloon: From the Airport Express station in Kowloon, it takes about 25 minutes to the show venue AsiaWorld-Expo next to the Hong Kong Airport. From the Airport Express station in Tsing Yi, it takes about 17 minutes to AsiaWorld-Expo. When trade shows are held at AsiaWorld-Expo, discounted train tickets are available for HK$72 (US$9) round trip from Kowloon and HK$47 (US$6) round trip from Tsing Yi. Discounted rates are only available when you use an Octopus stored value card and stay at the venue for more than 1 hour. Please refer to 1.10 AsiaWorld-Expo (Hong Kong MTR route map). Hong Kong's "Octopus" stored-value card To get around Hong Kong on public transportation, you can use a stored-value card called an "Octopus" card. It's convenient, widely used, and you won't have to find exact change when traveling. Octopus cards are accepted by almost all forms of public transport such as public buses, Hong Kong's MTR, and the Airport Express train you can take to and from the show and the Hong Kong Airport. Octopus cards are also accepted as currency at 7-Eleven convenience stores,McDonalds restaurants, Starbucks coffee shops,and other selected places of business. When you purchase an Octopus card, you make a refundable HK$50 (US$6.40) deposit, and pay any additional amount you want stored on the card (for example, you may want to purchase HK$200 (US$25) worth of stored value). You can purchase Octopus cards in the Arrival Hall at the Hong Kong Airport or at any MTR station. You can add additional value to the card at any location that accepts them. 2.Public bus You can also take a public bus to the show venue. Travel time will vary (depending on traffic) but you should plan for about one hour. All Hong Kong buses are modern, clean and air conditioned. To pay the fare, you can use HK dollar coins (exact change) or a stored-value Octopus card. The public bus station is situated at the West Entrance of AsiaWorld-Expo. There are nine public bus routes to AsiaWorld-Expo: * Approximately US$1 = HK$7.8 ^ E22P or E22X: special peak hour morning service from Monday to Friday 3. Cross border bus Comprehensive cross border bus services provide easy land access to and from China. Regular daily bus services are available from AsiaWorld-Expo to and from Guangdong province during the show period. Advanced booking is required for pick-up / drop-off at AsiaWorld-Expo. Eternal East Bus provides services between Shenzhen and AsiaWorld-Expo. China Travel Tours Transportation Services Hong Kong Limited provides a bus route each from Dongguan and Guangzhou to AsiaWolrd-Expo. 4. Global Sources free shuttle bus service Global Sources will provide free shuttle bus service during the show to and from AsiaWorld-Expo (the show venue). Admission badges are required for boarding the buses. This service is on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations will be accepted. This service is provided for passengers only and not for transportation of goods. Hand baggage which exceeds 56cm X 36cm X 23cm will not be allowed to carry onboard. Show Management has sole discretion to deny access to the bus service. See below: Schedules and routings are subject to change at Show Management's discretion. Please check again for final shuttle bus arrangement one month prior to show opening. 5. Private cars & taxi You can take a taxi directly to the venue. Travel time varies (depending on traffic) between 30-50 minutes. The Taxi Stand is located near the East Entrance. AsiaWorld-Expo is serviced by both Urban (red) and Lantau (blue) taxis. For a taxi from Central (Hong Kong Island), expect to pay around HK$370 (US$48) one way as you will have to pay an additional fee to travel through Hong Kong's cross-harbor tunnel. From Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon), expect to pay around HK$270 (US$35) one way. You can also take a taxi to the nearest Airport Express Station and then take the Airport Express train to the AsiaWorld-Expo. There are 500 parking spaces available at the SkyCity Carpark (near to the venue's West Entrance) for private cars and motor cycles only.
